Week 32 — Prophecy
"Seek eagerly after love. Set your hearts on spiritual gifts—above all, the gift of prophecy." —1 Corinthians 14:1
Jump to day: Sun Mon Tue Wed Thu Fri Sat
Sunday
"You form a building which rises on the foundation of the apostles and prophets." —Eph 2:20
Conversation:
Abba: Child, I tell you how to build My kingdom through prophecy. Prophecy is to be sought above all the other spiritual gifts. Don't stifle the Spirit and despise prophecy (1 Thes 5:20). It is part of the foundation of My Church.
Child: Abba, I have done many things based on my common sense, intelligence, and training. I have ignored prophecy. I repent of doing my own thing. Forgive me.
Response:
Prophesy to the dry bones: "Hear the word of the Lord" (Ez 37:4).
Monday
"Even though a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if his oracle is not fulfilled or verified, it is an oracle which the Lord did not speak." —Dt 18:22
Conversation:
Abba: Child, be on your guard against false prophets dressed in sheep's clothing (Mt 7:15). Test the prophets (1 Thes 5:21), not because of skepticism but out of profound respect for true prophecy.
Child: Abba, may I accept the grace to be attentive to prophecy like to a lamp in a dark place until the first streaks of dawn appear and the morning star rises in my heart (2 Pt 1:19).
Response:
Prophesy like Mary in the Magnificat (Lk 1:46-55).
Tuesday
"Besides, we possess the prophetic message as something altogether reliable." —2 Pt 1:19
Conversation:
Abba: Child, be careful neither to reject a true prophet or prophetess nor underestimate the value of a prophet. If you reject a prophet, you reject Jesus and Me, Who sent Him (Lk 10:16). Despite the devil's tricks, prophecy is altogether reliable. "Under the inspiration of these prophecies you may fight the good fight, and hold fast to faith and a good conscience" (1 Tm 1:18-19).
Child: Abba, may I receive a prophecy for my life's call, for my family and marriage, and for my work and Church community. I seek this spiritual gift above all others (1 Cor 14:1). Without prophecy, I can become discouraged (Prv 29:18).
Response:
Prophesy at your place of employment.
Wednesday
"And whether they heed or resist—for they are a rebellious house—they shall know that a prophet has been among them." —Ez 2:5
Conversation:
Abba: Child, would that everyone were a prophet! (Nm 11:29) Like any loving father, I love to talk to My children. "Whom shall I send? Who will go for us?" (Is 6:8)
Child: Abba, "send me" (Is 6:8). I know prophets are usually rejected, persecuted, and even put to death. Even so, send me.
Abba: Child, do you realize what you are saying?
Response:
Prophesy, suffer, die, and rise.
Thursday
"There we entered the home of Philip the evangelist, one of the Seven, with whom we stayed. This man had four unmarried daughters gifted with prophecy." —Acts 21:8-9
Conversation:
Abba: Young women and young men, prophesy (1 Cor 11:5; Jer 1:6). Farmers (Am 7:14), servants, and handmaids, prophesy (Acts 2:18). I multiply the number of My prophets to warn My people in the years before calamity. I do nothing without revealing My plan to My servants, the prophets (Am 3:7). Mary is My greatest prophetess. Listen to the prophecies about her Immaculate Heart. The prophecy of the century was given at Fatima.
Child: "The Lord God speaks—who will not prophesy!" (Am 3:8)
Response:
Prophesy or receive prophecy before making decisions (1 Mc 4:46).
Friday
"I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their kinsmen...If any man will not listen to My words which he speaks in My Name, I Myself will make him answer for it." —Dt 18:18-19
Conversation:
Abba: Child, My Son and Your older Brother Jesus is the Prophet of prophets. He is the Prophet prophesied from Moses' day. Listen to My Son (Mt 17:5). He is the prophetic Word, the eternal Word, the Word made flesh (Jn 1:1-14). Listen to Him. "The prophetic Spirit proves itself by witnessing to Jesus" (Rv 19:10).
Child: Abba, thank You for sending Your only Son (Jn 3:16).
Response:
Prophesy that Jesus is the Prophet, Lord, Messiah, Savior, King, and God. Alleluia!
Saturday
"But if an unbeliever or an uninitiate enters while all are uttering prophecy, he will be taken to task by all and called to account by all, and the secret of his heart will be laid bare. Falling prostrate, he will worship God, crying out, 'God is truly among you.' " —1 Cor 14:24-25
Conversation:
Abba: Child, My word is living and effective, sharper than any two-edged sword. Let it penetrate, divide, and judge the thoughts and reflections of the heart (Heb 4:12).
Child: Your word is like fire in my bones (Jer 20:9).
Response:
Prophesy the secrets of the heart.
