about his word
"What is there about His word?" —Luke 4:36, RNAB
What is there about His Word? "He commands the unclean spirits with authority and power and they leave" (Lk 4:36). God's Word overcomes temptation (Mt 4:3-11) and sin (Ps 119:11).
What is there about His Word? "By the word of the Lord the heavens were made" (Ps 33:6). The Word of God creates (Gn 1:1ff). God's Word is life (Jn 6:63) and gives life where there was no life (Ez 37:9ff). Jesus spoke and people at a distance were healed (Mt 8:13; Jn 4:50-53).
What is there about His Word? God's Word is like a "hammer shattering rocks" (Jer 23:29), and has the power to penetrate to the depths of rock-hard hearts (Heb 4:12-13) and break open human resistance. God's Word is bread from heaven (Mt 4:4), feeding and strengthening us, giving us power that leads to salvation (Rm 1:16). God's Word guides and directs us, lighting our path day by day in this world (Ps 119:105). His Word is our joy (Jer 15:16; Ps 119:111). God's Word is the Truth that sets us free (Jn 8:31-32) and sets our hearts on fire (Lk 24:32).
What is there about His Word? Everything that is powerful, holy, and good! Spend your life spreading the Word of God.
