saving secrets
"Now, therefore, through the church, God's manifold wisdom is made known to the principalities and powers of heaven." —Ephesians 3:10
Angels have superior intelligence; they understand things instantaneously. Yet God has hidden many things from the learned and the clever angels and revealed them to us, mere children (Lk 10:21). For example, the angels had to find out from the Church God's worldwide plan of salvation (Eph 3:10). The angels longed to search into the matters the prophets revealed (1 Pt 1:12).
It is amazing what God has revealed to us and how He has given us privileged information. However, we have a greater responsibility because of our privileges. "When much has been given a man, much will be required of him. More will be asked of a man to whom more has been entrusted" (Lk 12:48). The special revelation of worldwide salvation gives us the responsibility for a worldwide outreach. We must proclaim the gospel from the rooftops, on the mountains, in the streets, in the highways and the byways. We have a life-and-death revelation, which means we must spare no expense, even the expense of our lives, to share this good news so that all may be saved (1 Tm 2:4).
Prayer: Father, You have told me something that will save billions of lives eternally. By Your grace, I must say it.
Promise: "The Son will come when you least expect Him." —Lk 12:40
