To meet the risen Christ in a deep and personal way, it would be best to:
A) Take a tour of the tomb.
B) Inspect the shroud.
C) Put your hand and fingers into Jesus' wounds.
D) Read the Bible and hear it preached.
A is not best because no one met Jesus in the tomb. Mary Magdalene met Him near the tomb. Most met Him far from the tomb.
B is not best. Although John and Peter saw the shroud, it did not help Peter believe and it is not clear if it helped John.
C is not best. When Thomas probed Jesus' wounds, he confessed Jesus to be Lord and God (Jn 20:28). Then Jesus said it was better not to see but still believe (Jn 20:29).
D is best because the two disciples on the road to Emmaus recognized Jesus in the breaking of the bread after Jesus explained the scriptures to them (Lk 24:32). Jesus did the same thing resurrection evening. "He opened their minds to the understanding of the Scriptures" (Lk 24:45).
Prayer: At my fingertips I can meet You, risen Lord Jesus. May I walk a Bible walk with You and spend a Bible evening.
Promise: "God raised Him from the dead, and we are His witnesses. It is His name, and trust in this name, that has strengthened the limbs of this man whom you see and know well. Such faith has given him perfect health, as all of you can observe." —Acts 3:15-16
