where there's his will, there's his way

"It is the will of Him Who sent Me that I should lose nothing of what He has given Me." —John 6:39

Jesus will never reject us because He, Who is Love (1 Jn 4:8, 16), loves us with a crucified love. However, Jesus does not give this as the reason for never rejecting us. He will never reject us because He does not do His own will. Jesus came down from heaven to earth to do His Father's will (Jn 6:38). He does His Father's will, and the Father wills that Jesus not reject us (Jn 6:37-38).

Jesus' food was to do His Father's will (Jn 4:34). Jesus taught us to pray for His Father's will to be done on earth as it is in heaven (Mt 6:10). Jesus even promised: "Whoever does the will of My heavenly Father is brother and sister and mother to Me" (Mt 12:50). Jesus insisted that only those who do the Father's will can enter His kingdom (Mt 7:21). In the agony before His death, Jesus prayed to His Father: "Not My will, but Yours be done" (Mt 26:39, our transl). Jesus said to His Father: "I have come to do Your will" (Heb 10:9). "By this 'will,' we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all" (Heb 10:10). "This is the will of My Father, that everyone who looks upon the Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life" (Jn 6:40).

Make an act of the will always to unite your will to Jesus' will and thereby be united to the Father's will forever.

Prayer:  Father, "I come to do Your will" (Ps 40:6ff, Septuagint). "To do Your will, O my God, is my delight, and Your law is within my heart!" (Ps 40:9)

Promise:  "There were many who had unclean spirits, which came out shrieking loudly. Many others were paralytics or cripples, and these were cured." —Acts 8:7

Praise:  John made a decision to spend more time with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament by signing up for an hour of weekly adoration.
