the coming attraction
"It will go well with those servants whom the Master finds wide-awake on His return." —Luke 12:37
Jesus will come back soon, and our world will end. We don't know the exact time. It could be right now. It will be when the world least expects Him to return (Lk 12:40). Jesus could return at any time.
Therefore, "let your belts be fastened around your waists and your lamps be burning ready" (Lk 12:35). Dispense the "ration of grain in season" (Lk 12:42), that is, feed people physically and spiritually, especially with nourishment from God's word (see Mt 4:4) and encouragement to receive the Eucharist (see Jn 6:54-55). "So, beloved, while waiting for this, make every effort to be found without stain or defilement, and at peace in His sight" (2 Pt 3:14).
"Men will see the Son of Man coming on a cloud with great power and glory. When these things begin to happen, stand erect and hold your heads high, for your deliverance is near at hand" (Lk 21:27-28). "The One Who gives this testimony says, 'Yes, I am coming soon!' Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!" (Rv 22:20)
Prayer: Maranatha! Lord Jesus, may we be ready to meet You when You come again.
Promise: "Faith is confident assurance concerning what we hope for, and conviction about things we do not see." —Heb 11:1
Praise: Praise Jesus, crucified, risen, glorified, and soon to come! Praise Jesus, "the Alpha and the Omega, the One Who is and Who was and Who is to come, the Almighty!" (Rv 1:8) Alleluia!
