deciding on your future
"It did not collapse; it had been solidly set on rock." —Matthew 7:25
What will happen if you die before Jesus returns? At death, will your house, life, and family collapse? (see Mt 7:27)
What will happen as you live? Is there any way to protect your family and life from being destroyed? How can you determine what will happen in the future?
If you are alive when Jesus returns, will you be caught up "in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air"? (1 Thes 4:17) Or will you and your house be destroyed "with the breath of His mouth" and annihilated by the manifestation of Jesus' presence? (2 Thes 2:8)
Jesus promises that those who hear and practice His word have founded their houses and lives on rock. Therefore, they will not be destroyed but have "a future full of hope" (Jer 29:11). In contrast, those who do their own thing instead of doing God's word assure the destruction of their lives.
You are reading God's word and a teaching on His word. You are in a position to assure that you and your house will have a future of endless love, joy, and peace. Do God's word.
Prayer: Father, may I do Your word better than ever before, beginning this Advent.
Promise: "Trust in the Lord forever! For the Lord is an eternal Rock. He humbles those in high places, and the lofty city He brings down." —Is 26:4-5
