press fast-forward
"I will heal you: in three days you shall go up to the Lord's temple; I will add fifteen years to your life." —Isaiah 38:5
Jesus, the Lord of lords, is Lord of time. He can add to our time here on earth. He added fifteen years to Hezekiah's life. Jesus can even stop time, as He did for Joshua for a day (Jos 10:13). The Lord, of course, can multiply time, as He multiplied the loaves and the fish. Astoundingly, the Lord can put time in reverse, as when the sun went backwards as a sign to Hezekiah (Is 38:8). The Lord has even given us the power to fast-forward the time of His final coming and the end of the world (2 Pt 3:12). We can do this by repentance, evangelization, growth in holiness, and intercession.
The Lord's business is to add to, stop, multiply, or reverse time. However, we need not be too concerned about all this, for we are in the fast-forward mode. Therefore, "now is the acceptable time! Now is the day of salvation!" (2 Cor 6:2)
Maranatha! Come, Lord Jesus — now or as soon as possible.
Prayer: Jesus, You are always on time. Come, Lord Jesus!
Promise: "The Son of Man is indeed Lord of the sabbath." —Mt 12:8
Praise: Fred's retarded son badly needed dental surgery but was forced to wait three weeks for an opening. Fred attended noon Mass and asked God to speed up the process. After Mass, the surgeon called Fred and told him that due to a cancellation, his son could have surgery the next day.
