"Take heed, therefore, how you hear." —Luke 8:18

God's word will not be hidden (Lk 8:17). You can be a cloud obscuring the light of God's word, but the light will continue to shine (see Ps 119:105), and you will be blown away.

God's word is irresistible (Jdt 16:14) for some people. While some resist God's word, there are always others who accept it. It is always living and effective (Heb 4:12). God's word always achieves the end for which it was sent (Is 55:11).

God's word is unstoppable. "There is no chaining the word of God!" (2 Tm 2:9) Jesus, the Word of God, leads an unstoppable, victorious army (Rv 19:13ff).

God's word is indestructible. Though heaven and earth pass away, God's word will never pass away (Lk 21:33). It is "an indestructible seed...the living and enduring word of God" (1 Pt 1:23).

God's word is the teaching of the Church in her divine traditions, especially in the Bible. Put this word on the lampstand of your life (Lk 8:16). Share God's word. "When much has been given a man, much will be required of him" (Lk 12:48). "I charge you to preach the word, to stay with this task whether convenient or inconvenient" (2 Tm 4:2).

Prayer:  Father, may I read and share Your word daily.

Promise:  "Whoever, therefore, among you belongs to any part of His people, let him go up, and may his God be with him!" —Ezr 1:3

Praise:  The Norton's hired workmen to replace their roof. When the roof was removed, a sudden, violent rainstorm soaked the area. The workmen, upon seeing the storm approaching, dropped to their knees and prayed the rosary. The storm drenched the surrounding area, but a circle of sunshine surrounded the house and kept it dry.
