Similar Reflections

"The heavens and the earth quake, but the Lord is a Refuge to His people, a Stronghold to the men of Israel." —Joel 4:16

When planet earth is burning (2 Pt 3:7), when heaven and earth are quaking, when others are dying of fright (Lk 21:26), we who are God's people will be standing erect with our heads held high, awaiting our deliverance (Lk 21:28), for the Lord is our Refuge and Stronghold. Whom shall we fear? (Ps 27:1) Though an army encamp against us (Ps 27:3), "if God is for us, who can be against"? (Rm 8:31) Though a thousand fall at our side, ten thousand at our right side, near us it shall not come (Ps 91:7).

Nothing can ever injure us (Lk 10:19). No weapon fashioned against us shall prevail (Is 54:17). We have victory in all things (1 Cor 15:57) and are more than conquerors in Jesus (Rm 8:37). Even on that great and terrible day, "more distressful than any between God's work of creation and now, and for all time to come" (Mk 13:19), we will feel like singing "Alleluia! Salvation, glory and might belong to our God, for His judgments are true and just!" (Rv 19:1-2) "Once more they sang 'Alleluia!' And as the smoke began to rise from her forever and ever, the four and twenty elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God seated on the throne and sang, 'Amen! Alleluia!' " (Rv 19:3-4)

Prayer: Lord, I want to be ready. May I be fearless because I know You personally and have been forgiven.
Promise: "Blest are they who hear the word of God and keep it." —Lk 11:28
Praise: Lucy quit watching the Christian TV shows that continually focused on "end times" and began serving the Lord each day as if it were her last.
